I teach organic chemistry at Chandler Gilbert Community College, Chandler, AZ.
I obtained B.S. in chemistry from the University of Madras, M.S. in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, M.S. in organic chemistry and Ph.D in chemistry from Vanderbilt University where my research interests focused on synthesis and characterization of novel organometallic compounds.
I have always been interested in enhancing student understanding of difficult topics in organic chemistry. I have been actively involved in pioneering several projects at CGCC (Williams Campus). I have internationalized CHM138 (Chemistry for Allied Health) and infused diversity in the introductory chemistry courses. I have also obtained several Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction learning grants to increase students’ interest in organic chemistry. I received the 2006-2007 Maricopa Institute of Learning Fellowship to integrate chemical sustainability or green chemistry in the undergraduate chemistry curriculum.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy painting landscapes and still life (medium: acrylic on canvas). I also enjoy drawing with pen & ink and charcoal on paper.

We have 3 wonderful dogs, Spirit, Radical and Fusion. Check them out on Facebook
